Spring Water Flushing

IMPORTANT for residents in Dorchester and Thorndale on the municipal water system:

Thames Centre Water Department will be conducting their Spring Flushing Program on April 15 and 16th between 8:30 and 4:00pm. This is done to remove any sediment or stagnant water from the distribution centre, as well as test our fire hydrant operations. Doing this improves the overall water quality and ensures that we deliver the highest quality water possible.

A few important things: - switch your water softener (if applicable) to by-pass - avoid doing laundry during these two days. Discoloured water may be observed and has the potential to stain light coloured clothing

Once the flushing program has been completed, run your cold water tap for 2-3 minutes to flush out any discoloured water that may have accumulated in your water connection. If you don’t get clear water during this time, shut off the tap and repeat again after one hour.

If you continue to have issues, or have any questions, you can call the Thames Centre Water Department at (519) 268-7490.
